For over 20 Years, Niagara Parks hosts Canada's longest running fireworks series over Niagara Falls! This year's extended Fireworks Season will start on May 1 with Fireworks every Wednesday, Friday, Sunday and Holiday until October 31. On May 20, start off the night with a free concert featuring classic rock favorites. There will be concerts every Friday, Sunday, and Holiday from Victoria Day to Labour Day (May 20 - September 5). (Tours held on 22,28 & 29) Listen to ghost stories and the traditions of Halloween during this popular event. The evening concludes with the Burning of Guy Fawkes, a visitor favourite! Tour times available are 7:30, 7:45 and 8:00 p.m. with Guy Fawkes burning at 8:30 p.m. After the tour stick around and watch a classic Halloween movie in our 80-seat theatre. Admission is free with a purchase of an All Hallows’ Eve ticket. We are showing Halloween (2007) (Rated 18A) on October 22, Poltergeist (1982) (Rated 18A) on October 28, and The Addams Family (Rated PG) on October 29. The event is to celebrate the 200 year anniversary of Mary Shelley’s novel, Frankenstein. The Homestead will be holding a kids party with games, snacks and crafts all themed around this wonderful work of gothic literature.
Niagara Falls International Marathon

A unique international experience, the marathon starts in Buffalo NY, travels for 4 miles through a beautiful and historic section of Buffalo. The course then crosses the Peace Bridge into Fort Erie, Canada and follows the scenic Niagara River north to finish at the brink of Niagara Falls. While the other races (The Schools Challenge, 5k, 10k and Half-Marathon) are wholly on the in Canada they all follow the Niagara River to finish at the same famous finish line, Niagara Falls. The annual Niagara Falls International Marathon is a spectacular event starting in Buffalo, NY and finishing at the brink of Niagara Falls! The most famous finish line in the world for all participants in the School's Challenge, 5k, 10k, half-marathon and marathon races. Come listen to Amek Adler tell his amazing story of survival during the Holocaust. In addition, Bud Whiteye will be telling his story of perseverance during his time in residential school from 1955-1961. The talks begin at 1 p.m. (approximate end time 3:30 p.m.) with doors opening at 12:30 p.m. in Old Fort Erie’s Welcome Centre. Admission is free but there is limited seating.
